Our story
Our business was established more than 80 years ago by our father and grandfather Morris Orkin.
It started off with one clothing store in Knox Street Germiston and was built up to consist of 7 clothing stores all in Knox Street Germiston. The stores sold Men’s, Ladies and Children’s clothing and Shoes. They also sold Blankets and suitcases. The blankets were sought after possessions as each style of blanket had a message and was important to different cultures. The demand for these items diminished over the years and so did Knox Street as a trading area. The business was relocated to the Golden walk Germiston approximately 25 years ago. It is now run by Ivan Orkin and his son David Orkin.About our stores
Our business consists of four stores which specializes in Men’s, Ladies and Children’s footwear and men’s Clothing. The footwear division concentrates on branded names such as Arbiter, RM of Italy, Florsheim, Crocket and Jones, Barker, John Drake, Le Coq Sportieff, BMW Puma, Mercedes Puma, Caterpillar and Palladium and may other famous brands.
The clothing division also specializes in branded names such as: - Strachan & Myburgh, Dobbs, Evans Polo, Pringle, Jonathan D, Cutty, Brentwood, Grant Knitwear, Levis plus many others.
We have a lay bye system (three months) and have just created an online business
